Product usage: As an excellent solvent, it is widely used in metal cleaning agents, degreasing agents, extractants, sprays, paint strippers, extractants and dissolving agents for thermoplastic materials, penetrants, catalysts, thickeners; as an organic synthetic basic chemical raw material, it can be used for the synthesis of fluorocarbon compounds (e.g.: R32); it can also be used as a polyurethane foam, a manufacturing polycarbonate, a processing hot solvent for films and rubber products, and used as an adhesive.

Physical & chemical properties: Under normal temperature and pressure, the product is a colorless, transparent and volatile liquid with a scent of ether and a sweetish taste. Its melting point is - 96.7°C , boiling point 40°C and density 1.336g/cm3 at 20°C. No flash point for pure methylene chloride. It is soluble in ethanol and ether also slightly in water.
Application: Due to its high solvent capacity, methylene chloride offers a range of widely versatile applications. Methylene chloride acts as a solvent and extraction agent for lubricants, oils, mineral oils, waxes, resins, cellulose ester, caffeine, etc. in the metal- working, textiles, leather, plastics, pharmaceuticals and food industries. It is also used as a component in paint stripping and metal degreasing agents, as propellant additive and in removal-agent formulations for the production of polyurethane foam.
Handling and storage: The product is packed tightly in galvanized steel drum or tanks (or tank cars) Stored in dry, well-ventilated area, avoid direct sunlight and raining. It is to comply with the local governmental regulations of railway and road transportation concerning hazardous cargos.
