At 9:00 a.m. on January 10, 2020, an elderly man driving an electric tricycle with a child accidentally fell into the water in Miaoshengsi New Village, Zhuangshi Street, Zhenhai District. Zhou Hedong, a bus driver of Ninghua Company passing by, stopped the vehicle and, together with Liu Longsheng, deputy team leader of the First Unit Department, bravely jumped into the icy river to rescue them. Company employees Qiu Yongping, Ji Lianpeng, Li Kuan, and others assisted in successfully rescuing a man in his sixties and a child about two years old ashore.

After learning about the brave rescue of the elderly and child from drowning by Liu Longsheng and four other comrades despite the severe cold, Ninghua Company leaders immediately commended them.
