Physical and chemical properties: At normal temperature and pressure, it is a colorless transparent, volatile liquid with an ether-like odor and sweet taste; melting point -96.7°C, boiling point 40°C, pure dichloromethane has no flash point, density 1.336g/cm3 (20°C); slightly soluble in water, soluble in ethanol and ether.

Storage and transportation: Store in a cool, ventilated warehouse; keep away from fire sources and heat, prevent exposure to sunlight. Warehouse temperature should not exceed 30°C, relative humidity not exceeding 80%; keep containers sealed. Should be stored separately from alkali metals, food chemicals, oxidizers, and acids; avoid mixed storage.
During transportation, vehicles should be equipped with appropriate types and quantities of firefighting equipment and emergency leakage handling devices. During transport, avoid exposure to sunlight, rain, and high temperatures. Storage and transportation should comply with local regulations on hazardous chemical cargo transport.
